Prime PDF Scanner – Camera Scanner and OCR
This is the new Google Play app for scanning documents that you can use to convert paper copies into digital PDFs. With this scanner, it’s easy for you to perform the functions and generate documents of premium quality. Here’s a full review of this app.
The app for Android devices has several attractive features that make it different from the rest. It is fully functional and doesn’t limit the number of pages or scans. Additionally, the produced images and PDF documents do not come with watermarks. The app also offers free Optical Character Recognition (technology used to extract texts from images) that supports 100 languages. With this app, you can seal the scanned documents or add a signature by selecting from a file or simply drawing it on your screen.
You can also import multiple PDF files or images with the built-in file browser and save scans anywhere you find convenient. Additionally, you can extract PDF document pages then turn them into JPG images. Using Aspect Ratio Control, it becomes easier to stretch or shrink the image where necessary.
This app, however, is only available for Android mobile devices and is compatible with version 4.2 or later.
Ease of Use
Judging from the myriad of convenient features, you might be led to believe that the app is complicated. However, it is quite easy to use right from the initial screen all the way up to the easy-to-use features such as real-time detection of documents. It also allows for one-click sharing of PDF and JPG. Notably, it works seamlessly on my device, and I’ve never experienced crashes nor lags ever since I installed it.
The latest version of the app comes with lag fixes and performance enhancements.
The Android app has a simple design that is quite easy to understand. Another incredible UI attribute is that it also lets you view multiple pages of the same document. The nature of the design and user interface makes the app convenient, considering the number of features it offers.
The app is completely free to install, and each of the functions in the Google Android app is free to use and readily available. Notably, it has in-app purchases ranging from $2.99 to $4.99 per item. They offer additional features and more comprehensive user experience. It would be advisable that you acquire them.
- It’s free to install;
- Efficient image processing;
- Allows printing from the device.
- The ads are overwhelming;
- The OCR for Chinese isn’t that accurate;
- I’m unable to choose multiple images from my gallery for PDF creation.
Relative to other apps in the category, this PDF scanner is among the leading ones due to its features, performance, and lots of benefits. Notably, the app has several weaknesses. However, most of them can be addressed with the updates. Generally, I like the features it offers, and I recommend that you get this app installed.
