File management is a very important part of utilizing your Android device. I got my Android smartphone about 2 years ago. In this period, I have tried out a number of file manager apps. You might be wondering why I need a third party file manager when Android comes with an inbuilt file managing app. Well, I have found that the application that came with my device is not as capable as I’d like it to be. This is what drove me to look for an alternative. After a long time of searching, I finally came across what I consider the best file manager. The app I am talking about is FX File Explorer. Keep reading to find out what makes this tool stand out from the rest.

This app has several useful features. First and foremost, this application has FX Connect which makes it possible to transfer files from one phone to another through Wi-Fi direct. In addition to this, it supports NFC which connects two phones when you touch their backs together. The app has a web access feature that allows you to transfer and manage all your files through your computer browser. Last but not least, it has multiple window support which gives you the chance to view two screens at once.

FX File Explorer is compatible with Android mobile only. It requires Android 4.1 and up.

Ease of Use

FX File Explorer is generally very easy to use. The performance is decent as well. However, there is one thing I have a problem with when it comes to this app. It is not able to show me the contents of a ZIP file when I open it directly from my email. It only displays random texts. I always use a separate app to open the ZIP files. I really hope they fix this soon. Nonetheless, I appreciate that they have upgraded the interface in the latest version.

FX File Explorer has UI that makes use of a grid layout. This makes the application well-organized with very easy and fast access to different types of files. The design is also impressive. I like that there is an incorporation of different colors.

This app is free but offers in-app purchases that allow you to upgrade to premium which has more features.

  • Easy to use;
  • Convenient;
  • There is so much you can do with the app.

  • You have to upgrade to get access to some of the features;
  • Doesn’t open ZIP files successfully;
  • Not compatible with iOS.

FX File Explorer takes file management on Android devices to a whole new level. With this app, I can not only access my files fast but also share and edit among other things. It is perfect if you save a lot of documents on your Android smartphone. It will make work easier, and your device will always remain organized. Get it on the Google Play Store.
